A little surrealism

Kyiv, 2001

The layout of this house has a very regular geometric shape, which with a fairly large area, caused some boredom, and the desire to slightly distort very clear rectangular spaces, to make them playful, unusual and a little strange elements of surrealism. It was especially bright in the living room. Ceiling lamps there were made individually in the form of volumes resembling toli cave stalactites, toli sea corals. In the hall on the ceiling appeared stained glass windows of bizarre teardrop shape with bright abstract patterns. The children's bath was veneered with small tiles with "sea" decors, and decorated with stylized false walls. The master's bath looks pompous. Marble mosaic and tiles were used here for wall decoration. The main decorative element was a mosaic panel with the image of stylized colors. The use of mirrors in wall cladding has created an additional optical effect that visually increases the size of the bathroom. A cork flooring was used in the game room to cover the floor. A drawing of a chessboard was made of cork boards of different colors on the floor. The owner's office was solved with the use of wooden panels on the ceiling and a huge matte stained glass window as the main source of light. The walls in the office are covered with dark terracotta paint with a gold vertical brush finish. The master bedroom has very light walls combined with a light abstract picturesque panel on a false wall above the bed and near the TV. In the picture of the panel you can constantly discover all the new details, and stories that remind you that surrealism is what comes in a dream.
